    Someone estimate RWHP for me.

I found an 84 318i with a M30 (it says 5 series engine so I would assume M30) with a Schneller cam in it and a 5 speed for 500$ like 2 towns over from me. I know the 318i is the lightest E30 made. What could this be putting down to the wheels granted engine is in decent shape? What 0-60 times and 1/4 mile times would be expected (Just wondering here, not too concerned)? Can the small case rear end handle serious power?

Too many variable on all counts to give a good estimate. But it sounds like a good price.

Don't worry about the horsepower...fear the torque.

Heres a link to the car:

It needs work, but if I do buy it, it won't be a daily. More like a auto x or week end toy kinda deal.

Very true. I asked for a picture of the engine.

If it's a US spec B34 it's probably putting down 155 to 160hp and around 180 to 190ftlbs at the ground.

Ya it could very well be a 2.7L eta motor.

My M30 is pretty even with an SRT4, which does a 13.9 1/4 mile. I dunno about to 60.
