Not sure what the t56 thing is - the original link said it was a 3.5L m30. Anyone know?

Is the T56 not the 6 speed transmission that is normally coupled with an LSX engine????

I would tend to believe so...

They may of had a bell housing made so they could use the T56 with whatever is in that car.

Edit: also the t56 was used on other cars besides the LSx cars. LT1/LT4 Camaro, Firebird, and Corvettes, Vipers, some Mustangs?,

Yea, I've heard of e30 m3 guys talk of a (corvette?) 6-speed swap with some bell housing work. It really does sound like an inline 6(m30) - but who knows. Insane power none the less.

It says SC'd M30,which I would believe. I bet you could get about 400 ft-lbs if done right.

GM has used the Tremec/Borg Warner T56 since ~93. Ford caught on a little later, but still uses cheap/weak transmissions in most of the Mustangs.

You can buy them from Tremec without a bell housing and have one made if there is not one already on the market. Plenty of guys are running them in classic GM's and Mustangs.

Here are all the cars that came with them from the factory, I am sure there are a few more...

                        LT1 and LS1 Camaro, Firebird/Trans Am
                        C4, C5, and C6 Corvette
                        SRT10 Pickup
                        Viper
                        '00 Cobra R
                        03-04 Mustang Cobra
                        '04-06 Pontiac GTO
