    stroking an m30b3.5

    can i use a crank from an s-38 to stroke a m30b3.5?
will it even fit in the block?
is the stroke the same and it is the bore that makes it a larger displacement?

if so, what are the strokes of the 2 cranks?

The short answer is yes you can use an S38 crank in an M30 block. Stroke varies from the 3.5, 3.6, and 3.8 liter iterations (I don't remember the numbers off the top of my head). Custom / shaved pistons will likely be necessary, but it can be done. Check around on bigcoupe.com, there are a couple of guys that have built 3.7 and 3.8 liter M30 strokers.

the crank is from a M5 so i am guessing it is the 3.8. i didn't know there was OTHER versions of the S38....

      how about a 3.8 12v supercharged (with a 3.8 charger from a T-bird *M-90*)
if i am correct the M-90 cam easily produce 15 psi boost, blow that through the ITB's......spend the cam moneys on the charger/cooler set up....better hp for the $$.......

      what do you think???

now i just need joe to finish the mounts........

          3.8 crank

metric uses this as part of their 4liter 3.5 conversion, talk to courtney or teddy at metric mechanic in missouri - sure they can help u out, in the process of getting some stuff over from them - have fun
