I've searched around and I have yet to come accross the right cam for an M30 turbo build. I have a m30b35 head with a TCD stage 2 kit. I'll probably run 12 psi. The head is being built right now but I need to tell the machine shop what profile I want the cam to be by Monday. I know that you don't want a lot of over lap due to wasted boost and loss of mid range torque so whats a good turbo cam. I've heard a 288 would be good but what exact profile? Like 288/288 or what? Maybe 288/272? Anything helps! Thanks!

From what I recall, Todd (and Corky Bell) recommend stock cams for turbo applications. In an M30B34 turbo the 260 degree cam (stock US spec 3.4) makes more torque than hp, the 264 (euro spec) tends to produce almost even torque and hp, and the 272 (early 3.2s up to 4/84 or so) makes more hp than torque. A performance cam designed for a naturally aspirated application is hardly ever a good choice for a turbo motor.
Ken, how's the 335i coming along? I hope you are enjoying it!'88 528e /// '88 M5 /// '89 951 /// '98 E430 /// '02 M5

/ M30 turbo:
I suggest a new profile combination:
- intake: #1016 [259°/11.0mm/3.1mm@110°]
- exhaust: #0227 [245°/11.0mm/1.4mm@120°]
For the spring setup, we have double spring PAC-D95009 on retainer 99326.
Please check the cone angle (MK-8H, 8mm stem - 3grooves - 14.25° total angle)Just a little project im working on

A blown knee and arthritic ankle make driving the 5 speed problematic. Getting old. It is a hoot to drive, though. I will sell the car in the near future and the 6 coupe as well. I bought an E34 535i as a daily driver to replace the aging 633. I may add a TCD kit to the 535 and make it a play car as well.
