Slowest swap ever!!! another part is in

Well I'm getting closer and closer to that 1yr mark of having official started the motorswap *Oct/Nov 07*, and I'm still a good 300 bucks away from having everything to assemble the entire drivetrain and drop it in as 1 piece. But today I got the word my motor mounts are finally finished so tonight I will have pics of them up.. I'm running mounts very similar *over 90% similar* to the original Alpina B6 mounts. I'm going for engine position #3...I'll give you a basic run down of my set up so far....

    E23 86 735i M30
    E24 87 635csi getrag 265
    E28 86 535i single mass flywheel shaved 5lbs
    E28 88 M5 clutch/PP
    E28 87 535i ecu w dinan chip
    E30 88 325is 3.73 lsd *stock diff*

I still have a couple issues to sort out aswell. With this being my daily driver and only car I have to do it hopefully in 1 shot, but my issues are as follows.

I'm going to try and use the 325e auto driveshaft w engine pos #3

wiring harness...I'm still trying to find an 87 e30 325i manual trans harness...I have the manual harness from the 87 635csi I got the trans from, I could use that but i really don't want to splice and rewire. I want my motor in for a bmw even next month but a guy was suppose to weld a reinforcement kit on a new front subframe for me, but the fvcker has fell offf the earth so I have to buy another subframe and kit. Aside from that I am on the hunt for some headers if I find some b4 the motor is ready to be dropped in.

any comments or advice is most welcome on my setup..

Sounds like a good little set up. What trany crossmember are you using? That's where I got hung up. Screw the headers and boost that thing! You're half way there!

If you already have the harness for the 635 and not the e30, then I say just rewire the c101...otherwise the e30 harness has worked just fine for me (just extended a few sensors)

I was going to try and use the stock brace or just order 1 for an e30 M3.. if neither of those work I have access to virtually every bmw part they still make so Ill just find one and order it. here are a few pics of my mounts

sorry not the best pics, I used the work camera up here. I talked to the guy that made my mounts and he wouldn't have a problem making some more for me if I generate enough interest..him and I were thinking maybe 3-4 ppl interested in them would be worth his time. The holes for the bolts were the most difficult part of making the mounts he said but as u see he got them done and they are pretty nice. They are made from steel, not aluminum and he painted them for me.

correction.. these are steel, pretty light but has a solid feel to them.

Ireland Engineering has some headers that I was thinking about for my last 335i. They are affordable and look to be short enough to clear the passenger side firewall / floor. I'm 99% sure they will make their way into the next 335i since my long tube Stahls won't fit an E30 without cutting them up.

Avoid splicing the wiring harness at all costs. I'm still fighting wiring issues with the Lapis E30. Megasquirt it.

I just checked them out...those do look nice, but the description is a bit condridictive. I need to know if it is or isn't a direct fit...I will def to pick those up. Know anyone that needs S38 headers? :)
