    m20i harness on m30b34?

Hey people. Ive joined the dark side for some m30 in e30 sexytime! i was going to do the usual 24V but ive done one already so its time for something new!

    the breakdown:

Using m30b34 out of an e28, Can i run the m20i harness? Im a bit confused because of the 2nd gen m30s using the sensors in the bellhousing and the late ones using them on the front which makes me think i cant run the m20 harness on my motor:( which would be a bummer. So people who have swapped in the b34 how did you do it? the 2nd or 3rd gen m30 harness? m20? and what did you do about those 2 crank sensors?

Got my swap 99.9 sorted out except for this.

    TIA!!

I think you can run the M20 harness.
Search for a thread by George Graves on e30tech.
No pics in the thread but theres a lot of great info from when him and M3ryan did the swap.

Yea, I used m30b35 + '89 m20 harness +m30b35 ECU - had to lengthen a few of the injectors wires, and the temp sensor wires. Other than that - it was plug and play.

This is a different version of motronic though...

I think you would need a 325e harness to run the M30b34. better to be safe, and make a pinout chart for the ECU
