Motor mount bolts: I don't understand?

Alright so...I am putting the motor mounts on and I have tried a ton of different bolts, non of them seem to work.

I even bought a new one and it doesn't work. I have painted the block, maybe this is my problem. It will go in maybe 2 threads and then its like hitting a brick wall, won't budge, unless I really crank yank it.

Its like no bolts fit. They aren't stripped but its like trying to fit John Holmes in a cat...it just doesn't seem right.

Any suggestions? I put 3 coats of paint on the block.

Get the proper size tap and just "chase" the threads. Could be some paint in there or the threads could be rusty etc.

Run a tap all the way in with a little cutting oil and you should be golden.

Thanks for the help. Where can I get taps from? Does someone rent them or will I have to buy one?

Tapped that ass and now its all better. Crossthreaded it but now all better. Thanks for the help
