M30 Part and Tube placement?Help me finish up

Alright, I need to get the car over to the mechanic next week. The motor has to be in and done.

So here are some parts that I'm am unsure where they go, what tubes go from where to where so I'll start out with 1 pic a post...make it easier.

--remember while looking at these that I have 2 other inlets I am unsure of, 1 on the thermo valve and another on the rear most driverside of the intake mani.

Okay first one: I know what goes on the other side but where does the tube come from or go from here?

2nd: I almost think I have this backward (its facing the "body" of the car rather then the front of the car. Where does this tube go?

    3rd:

4th: I was told that if you have to stretch or twist the wiring, its going to the wrong spot, and that has held true with everything but this one...it kinda just hangs there not pointing in any certain direction.

    1. Goes from the fpr nipple to the nipple on the underside of the intake manifold.

2.I'm not sure. I blocked mine off. It's a vacuum hose.

    3. and 4. I have no idea what those even are. Maybe a picture further out instead of the mind-defying pictures.

    Is this a b34 swap?

      DJ,

Number 1 and number 2 both go to the underside of the intake manifold. Number 1 is obviously the fuel pressure regulator, and number two is just the crank case vent tube. The reason 2 needs to go to the underside of the manifold just to maintain some vacuum while the throttle is closed (idle). The B34 intake manifold should have three vacuum ports on the bottom, and the third port should connect to the underside of the throttle body itself. if you wind up with an unused port make sure to cap it off so you don't have an air leak.

Number 3 is a little diaphragm piece that connects to a 1/2" / 13mm ID fuel hose that connects to the charcoal canister. It's not 100% necessary, though it keeps gasoline fumes down quite a bit. If you don't connect it to the charcoal canister just block it off so it doesn't cause an air leak.

Number 4 is a little puzzling... It looks like an M20 throttle linkage piece to me, but I'll take a look at one of my M30 cars later and see if I can figure it out.

        euroshark is all correct

as far as #4 goes. I dont know what the heck that thing is. I would just forget it, buy a new E30 throttle cable assembly and install it on the M30 throttle body. Done. Then your E30 feels like a brand new car again.

          Awesome,
          Thanks guys for the help.

--The weird thing about #4 is it seriously goes now where...and I can't find the other "51" tag. This is an M30 wiring harness because I am putting it in a 318 so I'm guessing, with all the other things that were slightly shady, that they weren't going to modify an M20 harness

number 4 is the crank censor for the front of the motor on the passengers side. there should be a place for it to bolt in if you look down there. the part on your 2 fingers closest to your thumb should be about a 1/4 inch from the pully on the crank. I can take a picture if you need it.

this is a B34 swap correct? What mounts, tranny and drive shaft combo did you use?

Really, if you could get a pic that would be AWESOME help!

Yep, b34. Funk's mounts, Tranny is which ever has removable bell housing, no clue what drive shaft but it works. The swap was already done when I bought the car but needed a lot of improvement.

thanks man, I really appreciate it.

So I have #1, #2 done and need to get some fuel hose for #3. Waiting on #4's pic.

So that leaves me with 1 open nipple on the bottom of the intake mani. Any suggestions? I have the FPR and #2 hooked up.

Also...#4 (in realOEM pic) has 2 nipples. The one is connected to #3 above (my pic) but what about the other?

And just a question I need reassurance on. I bought a 2700-3000 range CFM aux fan. This is suffienct correct? Can I get rid of the factory aux fan (in front of radiator) and its wires?

just plug the other open nipple on the bottom, i had an extra to but nothing to put on it.

what did they do with your break booster vacuum line?

and number 4 should have no vacuum lines at all, it should just have a wire with a 3 prong connector at the top that plugs in near your thermo housing.

Alright 2 more things and I'm basically done..although I do need a reference sensor.

The wire on the left of the picture has 2 red wires running through it.
                            1) Large Red wire
                            2) Small Red Wire

The wire on the right has 1 wire
                            1) Small Brown Wire

Any clues on what these could be? I have a #9 on it so this means I did it in the beginning of taking apart...so its probably easy to get at.

                            Thanks

solid brown wires are always grounds. the red wires should be the positive on your battery.

this is how it is on mine, someone correct me if I'm wrong.
