    M30 weight distribution

    Finally weighed in the 335...

With a half tank of gas, loaded with camping gear (150 lbs?), and no driver, the car weighed in at 2900 lbs.

    Front axle - 1500 lbs
    Rear axle - 1400 lbs

Approximate weight distribution in the scenario ends up being: F-51.7% R-48.3%

Disclaimer, this was on a trucking scale, and the increments are 50 lbs. So this is *close*. Close enough to get us a realistic idea, anyway.

yeah... I would estimate though that with an average driver and a full tank, it would tip the scales @ around 2950-3000.

Still right around the 52/48 mark, closer to even for those of you have have sub boxes, and amps. :)

Does the car have a/c? Sound deadening? Without 150 lbs of crap in the rear is it more like f- 54% r 46%?

AC is totally removed, no condenser, pump or lines. In the rear I did not have a spare tire.

So minus 150 for the camping equip, (if you want to calculate as a full tank add approx 36 lbs), add 30lbs for a spare tire. And not all of the camping equipment was in the trunk... A lot of it was in the rear seat.

I would estimate a 335 without AC and without a big stereo, to sit around 52/48

Is your firewall banged back to fit the motor?

Factory Firewall... But you have to have a b35 cylinder head. ALL b34 motors will have to mod the firewall.

That's BS. I've M30B34 and i haven't touched the firewall. All sound deadening on place, also.

Jonsku, your motor is in a very forward position.
To my knowledge you can fit any m30 without modding (banging?) the firewall if you put that puppy as far forward as possible.

Having the motor back farther is more desirable and requires hitting the wall to fit. This is the way I'll be going for sure!!

If you didn't modify the firewall, then your distributor cap must literally be touching your radiator...

agreed, i had to push the wall quiet a bit to get it to fit, nothing crazy but some banging was involved...

are you in postiion 1 or 2?

That is a pretty sweet throttle body cover. I've never seen that before. Off-topic but important nonetheless.:)
