    M30/E30 Driveshaft Question

    I'm using the following setup:

    Car is 88 E30 325i vert
    M30B35 engine (E34)
    260/6 transmission (E34)
    Engine Position 3 Mount

Stuck on driveshaft. Research indicated that the front of E34 and rear of E30 325i can be mated. My E34 driveshaft doesn't disassemble the same way as the E30 one and cannot be mated to the E30 one.

What driveshaft or combo of driveshafts do I use?

    325e > 6/86?

I think you can use the one from a 6>86 and later 325e/es. It has the larger (3.12" I believe) guibo.

I don't believe in the different "positions" so I am not sure where, exactly, "3" is... but,
You should be able to use the "e" driveline, it will at least be close. You may need to use a driveline from an E36 328, since that will keep the CSB in the correct spot, and you can shorten or lengthen the front half to some degree

        325e (6/86 onwards) / 324td / M3 / 320iS driveshaft has the 96mm front you need for that.

But why you don't just cut the E30 and E34 front parts and get them welded together? You won't find driveshaft in the correct length (pos. 3 is so far back..) so you need to get the ds. shortened and balanced anyways..

The 325e driveshaft worked perfectly in conjunction with an E34 535 guibo. No need to weld or shorten the driveshaft.
