M30 tubular headers?

Is anybody here with an M30 E30 running aftermarket headers? The IE ones are made for the larger chassis & I don't know if they would fit an E30 or not:

I looked at having a header made up by a shop, but the prices started at roughly $1,200.

They might not fit, but I'd bet on them just barely fitting. Stock E28 dual downpipes will fit the E30 chassis until the point that the exhaust system has to start turning around the transmission, so I would guess that headers should follow a similar path as the downpipes.

FWIW, I thought those headers looked great. Paul LaDue worked with Jim Ireland on the design apparently, they are very close to the original Hartge headers. I ended up going with BavAutos Stahl replica headers because they bolt to the IE or factory catback with no welding, and I liked the idea of a longer header with smaller primaries on my 6er.

I haven't seen anyone with aftermarket headers, but I think that you could get the right one to fit.

The headers on the b35 cars are slightly easier to fit in the E30...

I have the paul ladue long tube headers and they will not fit if you are using motor brackets similiar to the e30.de ones or probably any bracket the uses the factory e30 mounting location.

The bottom tube on the front set hits dead on the bracket and then on the back set the tube closest to the front of the car just barely hits the bracket.

Barry, those are Paul LaDue's Hartge replicas. VERY nice. In various emails with him I have determined that they are essentially the same as IE's headers. I guess Paul and Jim collaborate on quite few things.
