the problem is i can't find a beat up e28 535i for sale... i am using this M30 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-U...spagenameZWDVW and i am going with extended warranty , the guy said that he could offer a 5sp swap , and every single thing i need for the swap... its gonna be around 2000$ and i am pretty sure i wont regret doing the M30 swap. my freind has a 535i (E34) with 250,000 miles and it runs like a champ. so i hope my e30 will kick his ass when i am done.

    btw my car is a 325e 1985.:)

It is a rewarding swap, for sure!

If you don't know what you're doing for exhaust, I used an Mroadster muffler (drivers side) and 3/4 gutted it. It sounds rad. :)

dont mean to thread jack, but

joe, I'm using 2 1/4 dual pipes from the bottom of the downpipe back, no x pipe, thru 2 thrush glass pacs, and possibly a thrush muffler. So far without the muffler i think it sounds really really good! But i have a couple questions.

                  1. will it matter that i dont have an X pipe? Cause i am getting no raspy noise, and it seems to run fine

                  2. where do i put the O2 if i have no X pipe? Do i run 2 and splice them together?

any input would be awesome and i think it will be good for others to see as well, as far as options are concerned

                  TIA

on and on a side note, drove it again tonight... couple hours ago... smile hasn't gone away yet...

I think you would be better off fabbing a quick Xpipe to get an accurate reading for the O2... could be a good question for the exhaust section whether or not you can get an accurate reading from a single pipe.

back to the radiator, e28 535 right, manual or auto, there are two parts numbers...

                          thanx

The manual radiator is superceded these days, I believe. They both have the same fitment, and the Auto radiator won't inhibit cooling much
