The beginning: m30 build

Second E30 I own. Bought this one mostly cause the chassis was clean and even though I knew the engine had a lot of miles and seen better days I decided to pick it up. 3 months or so later engine started running rough and with it's condition I let it sit and gather dust while I tried to figure out what I was going to do with it. Highly cosidered a stroker build but after much thought going M30! So here goes nothing.. I'll try and take as many pictures/updates as possible. As much as i've searched..im sure ill ask plenty also! So thanks in advance for contributing!

On with the build..
Engine- M30B34 (87' 535i)
Trans- 260 (533i)
mounts, pan, and pickup will be sourced from Joe
059 DME that came with engine
88 325i wiring harness

Im going to pick up the engine, trans, and other misc things tomorrow so i'll have pictures by then.
On to the first question! From what i've read.. a 88 325i harness can be used with E28 DME. Can anyone shed some light on this? Dont need specifics as ill research more on it later just want to know if it IS possible without extensive work.

Cool, looks like a nice clean starting point! The 260/5 from a 533i might throw things off with your choice of driveshafts since I believe it's slightly shorter than the 260/6 from the 535i/is, 635CSi, and 735i... Despite that, shortening the driveshaft doesn't cost much so it shouldn't be a huge deal.

Good to see another m30 build happening! Did you get the engine harness from the m30? if you did why not use that?
