    Need motivation... Friendly competition

Ok my M30 powered brethren, got a little dilemma on my hands. I work for a small company that sells Alfa Romeo parts and my boss just decided that we are going to start a little winter project in honor of a new road course that will be opening in Spring '09 here in Colorado. We are taking a 3.0 liter Milano 5 speed and turning it into a nearly-full-blown track car. Maybe not super competative, but it's gonna be pretty sweet, rocking coilovers, some nice engine mods, half cage, etc.

Naturally, being Alfa guys, they like to tease me about my BMW obsession and whatnot, It doesn't generally bother me because Alfas are kinda... gay... But now I feel a need for a little competition. A 3.0 liter Milano is going to be a pretty sweet ride on our track days, but I am 100% positive that a well set up 335i and a decent driver would be able to embarass it. I've got the budget, resources, and time to do it right. Seems simple enough then: build a 335i with my spare euro B34... Right?

The dilemma is that I'd likely have to get rid of a car due to my parking / storage situation. Right now in the stable there is my euro 635CSi that is undergoing to surgery. Selling this car is absolutely not an option. Next is my very sweet 535is that I enjoy to no end. It's seriously the best car I have ever owned and I love it, maybe unnaturally so. Finally I have my piece of shit 2.5 liter Alfa Milano. The gut answer would be to sell this thing for the $500 or so that it might be worth on a good day, but then I'd be stuck driving the 535is all winter and that just make me cringe.

Decisions... Help me fellow M30ers, what am I going to do??

And on that note, is anyone selling a sub $1000 325e? ;)

Sounds like you need to build a bigger garage to me! :D The only thing I can think is to store the 5er for the winter somewhere else. But that may not be feasible. I know how tough it can be to have a bunch of cars. I'm sporting 3 right now and it's a nightmare sometimes and getting a "335i" swap going on top of that!

        ^^ +1

My 535is has been in the garage FOREVER, and now it's starting to get cold, so I have to finish it up (FINALLY) so I can park the x3 and the copper car in the garage.

Then I'll STILL have two cars in the driveway.

Which brings me to my next point. 325e for $1000? Man, that's really less than I wanted, but I could do that for my bronzit with bottlecaps on it. But I live far away. It's a good value in my opinion, though. New brakes, new rear bearings.. etc. Smokes a little, but would serve you for many more years. (until it rusted away, that is)

edit: not that it's RUSTY, it's got a little bit, but I know how you're going to use it. Colorado uses salt, right? Bye bye bronzit!!
