    exhaust manifolds/headers

I guess none of the m30 headers will fit in an e30 installation, am I right?

If not what is the best exhaust manifold to use then,
my install will be in a cabrio and the block will be from an M90...

I thought I had read somewhere here ( I can't seem to find it now of course) that some manifolds are larger than others...

    Thanks

I used e32 manifolds and downpipes and they fit perfect.

OBX (china stuff i think) makes an M-30 header set for the 5 series. i have been looking at it as an alternative to modifying stock stuff to fit. i
it is a mid length header so it should not be a big hassle to make it work in an E-30.

i used to see them all over eBay and i had one seller saved, but when they changed some stuff on there it deleted my saved stuff.

hunt around though, there are OBX sellers everywhere on eBay

there is always this option too.

i emailed them to see if it has been tried in an E-30

I was under the impression that there are no headers on the market that will work for an M30 / E30 but I would love to be proven wrong.

The E32/E34 headers .. will not fit E30 oem.....

even S50 ((EURO)) doesent fit without modification on the headers,,

also the same with S38,, (( been there done that ))

                  Those are beautiful!

It seems to me that regular old M30 headers from an E24 or E28 might fit only because I used E28 downpipes on my swap and only had to bang on the passenger side tranny tunnel / floor area a bit to get them to clear. Depending on the headers it might not take much.

I have been looking for a set of headers for the M30, and I have either found nothing, or sets priced at around $1000 by the time it gets to my door. OBX doesn't make a set for the M30, only for the M20, but if one could prove me wrong I would happily accept it. :D

Ireland Engineering makes a fairly short M30 header for just over $400. I think it would fit nicely and might not even need any body modification.

Nice! Thanks for the link, now I know if I have an option when I am ready to buy a set. It probably wouldn't be a good idea to add this header to a relatively stock (chipped, BBTB only) M30B35 engine correct? One would probably loose to much torque down low with the 1-5/8" primaries. Thoughts?

I just sent Ireland an email asking about fitment on the headers. I'll report back here if he responds.
