Yes, you should be able to see the water fitting.

E32 and E34 oil pans (from the B35) are needed to clear the steering rack on e30s.

There's a water fitting on the back of the B34 head that requires clearance. The head is the same size.

thanks dude, i wasn't sure, but the b32 and b34 do look a lot longer for some reason!

the b34 head i think is longer then the b35 head. so you have to bash the firewall in a little to get the b34 head to fit in there right.
