Please help with my Turbo M30!! :)

Hi people, I´m just about to turbo my M30 powered E30 and was wondering how much boost will the engine safely take with stock internals without damaging the engine at all? I already have the /AEM UEGO (wideband sensor) / apexi AVC-R boost controller / apexi afc neo(engine managment) with the variable TPS / intercooler and a vdo oil presure gauge to run the turbo safely but dont know the max boost. And if someone has tips on how to make my turbo exhaust manifold or which aftermarket manifold would fit the M30 in a E30 chasis with a top mount without having to modify the engine bay or hood I would really appreciate it. Thanks alot !!! =) oh and I also dont know what size of exhaust to use, I wanted to use 2 individual tubes all the way but dont know which size to go with! Gracias!

    b34 or b35?

i think TCD runs 16 or 18 lbs non-intercooled with no problems. So if your intercooling you should be great in that range and have tons of power.

Look at good and tights threads, he just finished his.

    Good luck!

Thanks alot

Nope, M30 stock internals are a beast.

Good n' Tight ran a stock B34 up to 20 psi and got north of 400 HP reliably, if I remember correctly.

I'd be careful without the ARP head studs much over 10psi though.

He didn't ask about that. He asked about turbocharging the M30 he has under the hood.

Actually it was 14psi not 20, I am running 18psi now with headstuds and a stock headgasket.

But then you have super low compression with the b35 head
on the b34 block, don't you?

                        It's a B34 head.

what kind of gas do you run at 14 and at 18 and do you have a stand alone to retard the timing?

Ok so without the head gasteket you ran 14psi but the b34 has an 8:1 cr right and my b35 has a 9:1 so I think ill run max 10 psi like they say till I change the studs and gasket. You got 370hp out of your b34 with 14 psi (wow :o) , how much power do you think I can expect from the B35 with 10 psi intercooled and my apexi managment? o and if i go with a twin exhaust would it be enough 2.5" each? Thanks guys!

I think at 14psi he ran 93oct. its in one of good & tight´s threads!
