running lean?

i just got my head off this afternoon to do my head gasket and i was looking over the old head. The plugs are pretty white and all the exhaust valves are white as well, one is white all the way up the valve. I haven't installed an o2 sensor yet (actually going to tomorrow) but i ran it without for a few months. I'm also doing the head gasket cause i had coolant in the oil.

so any thoughts on the super white valves and plugs? is it a lean condition? and is it cause of the lack of o2 sensor?

hey,

have been runnin my m30 without o2 sensor for a while now, they run slightly richer without the 02 sensor not leaner so must been something else.

also will my 325e o2 sensor work with the m30b34? they are both 3 prong
