As for driveshafts: Patrick Philpot tells me that the regular manual e30 driveshaft works. I have yet to read that but he has swapped a few M30s in e30s already... so I'm curious to see how this will work out.

I can tell you that the bolt spacing on my 5/86 driveshaft was too small for the e28 output flange. I don't know if late models are any different.

Wait... actually it's simple. They are both Getrag 260s, so I can just swap the rear output flange if anything. Hardest part will be finding that 30mm thin wall deep socket.

it is the early cam, euroshark sold it to me and it never got installed, with a chip its supposed to open it up pretty good.

as for driveshafts, dont switch the outputs cause if you can keep the large guibo then do so. Get a drive shaft modified or find one from an 6/86 to 9/87 325e its large guibo and will fit.

Switching outputs = free. And I'm going on a limb and guessing the larger guibo would slam against my Z3 3.0 lever.

What you looking to get for the camshaft? I'm tempted. There's a smoking deal on an M5 flywheel here too.

I'm running a Z4 3.0 shifter and have plenty of clearance.

Hmmm, but sourcing out a driveshaft while I only have a week to get this car done might be tough/expensive.

Only close one is $100.... can't say I'm thrilled at that price. A guibo goes bad every how many thousand miles? On a car that will barely be driven, changing output flange > new d/s.

but you will be beating the s*** out of that guibo. I believe someone used the front half of an e34 drive shaft mated to the rear section of the e30 drive shaft and it fit perfect. Im not sure which tranny he used though.

i used the e30 front shaft which i believe is shorter then the e34 shaft and the radiator barely fits. use the small guibo but dont get rid of that output shaft cause i'd upgrade asap

You guys swear this is the first time these guibos will be seeing abuse :p

Plus, if all goes south because the M30 has such massive torque (when I eventually boost it) then I'll get an ///M guibo. Fits the 325i driveshaft, but a million times beefier.

And I don't follow how d/s placement will affect the radiator at all? The spline has plenty of room to move the d/s forward and back. And in either case, the motor mount brackets are what will really decide the distance between the engine and radiator anyways. :p

                          I'm hoping my 2.5" flex-a-lites fit.

Sorry if I missed this but who's mounts are you using? If you're using Funk's mounts the "big-guibo" 325e driveshaft is the only one I'm aware of working.

                              Nope.

With Funkmasta's mounts I used a e30 rear, e28 front with a E34 Getrag 260/6(Shorter output flange VS E28 260/6) and it bolted up like it was factory.:pimp:

Is your fan a pusher or a puller? If it's a puller don't even bother trying.
