ok so i put a 3.5 from a 91 735i in my 318i. this is my first bmw. when i bought the car it had aftermarket gauges already mounted. after about a year and a half i decided to see what they look like so i touched them to the battery and turns out i like them. The problem. i have no idea where to connect the water temp wires. i thought i had it right but the gauge reads 100 no matter what temp the coolant is. can anyone tell me for certain where to connect? there are three sensor looking things on top of the thermostat housing and one inline on the lower hose. other than that i have no idea except maybe trying to splice in behind the factory gauge. as i recall there are only two plugs that go into the gauge cluster, each with several wires so trial and error would be the order of the day if i went that route. any help? suggestions? thanks

If the temp gauge is aftermarket you may need to find the sender for that gauge. I'm not sure if the bmw sender will work with your gauge if its aftermarket.///Monstrosity. (OO≡≡[][]≡≡OO)
