    318 ecu question

Just wondering if all 318 have the same ECU? I am looking to buy a chip for my 1992 318ic and thought I should ask first instead of removing my ecu for the part number. Thanks.

i dont think they are any different, as long as its for an M42 you should be okay

Just make sure the chip is for an e30 m42, not a e36.

the last (3) digits on an original M42 DME will be "175"....

Right, E30 M42's are a blue label '175.' E36 M42's use a different ECU (I don't know the p/n off hand); activating the intake manifold flap is one of the main differences, along with knock-control.
