M42 Stroker build questions

Currently in the baby steps of doing a pretty nice build on my spare motor. Rushing this is not a option so I got a spare.I wanted to do everything that I could to make the motor put out the most for the money.


Questions I have....

1>) does any one know the Cam Lobe seperation of the m42 factory cams?

2>) What crank can you use from other bmw motors to achive a good stroke that is larger then the m42 factory stroke?

These are just the start. I want to be able to put out 200 hp NA jhave a good reving and reliable daily driver when im done.

people seem to use s5x pistons and m47 crank.

M44 crank with s52 pistons/rods gives you 2.0l I believe.

M47 crank with s52 pistons/rods gives you 2.1l.

M44 crank with s52 pistons/rods gives you 2.0l I believe.

M47 crank with s52 pistons/rods gives you 2.1l.

M42/M44 rods (140mm) with the M44 crank

S50/S52 rods (135mm) with the M47 crank

M47 crank needs machine work to fit the M42. The nose is a larger diameter and is missing a keyway
