Water pump removal flanges snapped off, how do I remove water pump? Please help!

    As per the title.

Any ideas other on how to remove the pump, other than a pry bar?

Perhaps if you have a Dead blow hammer or wood mallet, strike the pump from one side to the other and see if it budges some. Then you can get a plastic wedge under any exposed flange, then work it out.

Whacking it doesn't seem to help, though I didn't hit it super hard, for fear of breaking off the pully, which is the only thing I can get to to try and pry it out.

I had assumed you had the pulley off and were looking at the pump snout itself.

Yes, but there's the thing that the pulley bolts on to, like a little pulley.

If you mean the drive flange? The circular part the bolts thread into?

I can't the pump beeing too difficult to remove, unless either there is still a bolt holding it in or the pump is corroded and frozen in place.

If you have all the bolts out you may have to give some prying force, but I would use a piece of wood or steel flatbar to spread the force if you use the timing cover for leverage.

I gotta take a snooze, work in the AM. Best of Luck.

Yes, that thing is what I was trying to say, sorry. :/

It's definitely frozen in place, I'd guess it's corrosion based on the state of the rest of the cooling system.

spray with blaster. get a big wrench back there and turn the housing back and forth until it wiggles itself loose. may have to pry and trun at the same time.
