Three beeps every so often...

Hey guys,

My '91 318is (new to me!) has been great during my week of ownership so far.

It's super mint (or so it seems), and still has the original engine (working ODO, now at 262,XXX).

It has a few little quirks, but there's one that I haven't had a chance to address yet...

It seems to beep THREE times, every 30 minutes or so inside the cabin. It kinda sounds similar to my old e46, when the temperature hit a certain point outside, but I'm fairly sure this has something to do with servicing the engine rather than temperature?

Any help would be appreciated. Since I'm fairly new to e30's, and this a new car to me (with me being the 3rd owner...without most service records), I'm planning on doing an Inspection II...worth it for the peace of mind?

I just ordered the MarkD chip too, and can't wait to get that on!

My stock radio makes a beeping noise when it needs to be cleaned. Give that a go.

My current radio is a block-off plate and there are some monster cable wires I need to clean up. Haven't had a chance to look at the wiring there yet.

Is it simply a matter of clearing a code? Everything is pretty much fresh as far as maintenance goes.

Just finding it a tad annoying on the longer drives...

does it sound like the door chime?
if so it could be a short in the cable for the chime wich most of us just unplugg lol
but it does also sound like something in the OBC probably the airbag lite like my old on :D haha

Yup, same sound as the door chime. I'll check everything out this week, and I hope it's as simple as unplugging something, haha.

What he said. Took a read of the manual to figure it out for me. :) Your clock/temp probably has "ME" in the corner; press the MEMO button and that'll turn the reminder off.
