    Mess under the intake question

So My car has developed a vaccum leak and I want to do the mess under the intake mod. But I see that they are all looping the Coolant hose when they remove the throttle body heater. Is it possible for me to not remove the throttle body heater and just leave those hoses alone? or are they a must?

I would ask this on m42 club but for some odd reason im trying to register and it says my email has been banned.

Your question is a little confusing.

What I think you're trying to ask is if one can replace only the vacuum hoses and leave original coolant (heater plate) hoses in place.

Answering your question is tricky because there are certain parts where the vacuum lines and coolant hoses are connected together. To replace certain vacuum hose parts means you'll need to work with heater plate coolant hoses.

Realistically though - if your vacuum hoses are old and cracking - then it's highly probable that the "coolant pipe" along with other coolant hoses are in need of replacement.

      ^what he said.

and I recommend just going ahead and deleting that heater. it'll SIMPLIFY that vacuum/coolant hose mess alot. I'm so glad I did it.

offtopic.. about that coolant pipe... we were trying to bleed the coolant on a friends e36 318i and while we were warming up the car the hose to top nipple connection exploded in a rage of coolant glory. Sigh. Replacing the coolant pipe on that model m4x is more of a PITA than replacing the M42 we have. Stupid harness is laid between runners. WTF.

um.. not really. After going through it on my car - I really don't feel like dealing with it either.

I can tell you it's satisfying to complete though.
