M42 tranny question

I am doing a 5 speed swap into my Bro's '89 325i Vert. I found a 1991 318iS in a local yard with 142k I looked it up on the web and it says they switched from the 240getrag to the 260. I just want to make sure because it looks different then the 260 in my 325e

If anyone could shead some light on that and why it looks different would be great help.

the M42 cars all have a 240 unles its been 260 swapped...
but the 260 is a good bit bigger and about 30 lbs heavier

I thought so, the m42 one looked too small. It's just that e30world had it in their info that it was changed to the 260 from '90-91
