    For those considering engine/trans mounts-

    Many ask this question so...

I needed new mounts last summer and chose IE urethane engine and trans mounts entirely based on cost. Urethane engine mounts were half the cost of OEM hydraulic fluid filled mounts, might as well upgrade trans mounts too. Both certainly change the feel of the car - good and bad. Throttle response, feel, etc. is much improved with urethane mounts but comes with the obvious nvh.

Don't like the noise/vibration but still want things mounted more solidly? Get stiffer engine mounts but stick with stock rubber transmission mounts! I switched back to stock transmission mounts this weekend but left the urethane engine mounts in and at least 90% of the noise/vibration is gone. Throttle input feels almost entirely the same, shifting is just as good, just no resonance through the cabin anymore.

After observing this I will save the $160+ on new OEM engine mounts and spend it on something more fun.

    Perspective I'm coming from:
Much more track biased background, but sick of track only or street only cars. This is the first compromise car I've done. It has to feel responsive and controlled while driving but I have no interest in nvh that makes conversations or enjoying a good stereo difficult.

Free bump. Definitely swayed me to stick with rubber for the transmission mount.

Will definitely be trying this now.
      Thanks a bunch.

You don't really need to replace both engine mounts. Just the passenger side. It takes 90% of the wear and heat. Stick with stock hydraulic mounts.
