noisy lifter+rocker after install dbilas itb+cam

    hello,

my engine is m42b18 e30 standard. recently i'm installing new dbilas ITB and camshaft+ valve spring.
once finish all item installed, the engine noise rattling from rocker+lifter is so loud.
i wonder, is it HVA failure? should i use solid lifter?
    any suggestion is appreciated

    thanks&regards,

There is a thread on m42 club where a guy experienced noisy lifters after installing a camshaft. I think it's titled MY quest for 180 NA horsepower. He eventually fixed it, and it was something silly.

    otherwise how does it feel?!

You sure your got the cam timing correct? I recently changed my chain, got the cams off 1 tooth and the thing sounded like an old Mercedes diesel.

            You don't have rockers.

Oh, and pics of dBilas please!

You need to let the car sit for about an hour before you start it to get the HVAs to settle.

If it's still bad, double check the timing.
