    Fan Clutch Help

Does anyone know an easy way to get off a fan clutch? Mine is on there tight and I can't hold the pulley's from spinning. The only thing I can think of doing is getting an air chisel and hitting the nut, but I'm worried because there isn't much room and I don't want to mess anything up. If anyone has any hints let me know, it would be greatly appreciated.

Buy a long Carbon scraper, and wedge it in between the nuts/bolts that hold the water pump pulley in.

    WD40.

Then get your 32mm wrench (bike wrench, whatever) and push/pull.
The fan clutch is reverse thread by the way.
    My car eats bentley manuals.

Thanks for the tip. I got it off today with an air chisel at school. My car is still over heating, but not as fast with the new fan clutch. Possibly water pump?

More likely than the pump would be a bad thermostat.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

make sure you have bled the system properly. when air gets in the system it tends to run hot. if that doesnt fix it then it could be your pump or your thermostat. check to make sure your hoses are getting hot. if they arent you may have a waterpump issue.

you are probably better off just changing the pump and thermostat anyways. not too hard to do those yourself.

Damn I don't want to do anymore work on my car. I have an m50tu waiting to go in. I just need to gather some more parts together to complete the swap. AZ is getting hot quick so I think I'm going to have to invest in in a thermostat and pump. Thanks for the input guys.
