So one day after school, I went to start my car and no start. There was no fuel or spark and I narrowed it down to the Main shutoff relay. When I had the key in the on position the check engine light wouldn't show. When I fiddled with the relay it came on and I could have heard something click on and then the car started. So I replaced the relay and I though the problems were over. After this the car sometimes still dies and doesn't want to start unless I fiddle with the damn relay. Any suggestions?

clean contacts wiht electrical contact cleaner, then use some di-electric greese
worth a shot, since wiggling the relay , is just wiggling contacts
electrical contact cleaner is not the same as electrical motor cleaner, . electrical motor cleaner is aggressive to lots of stuff including plastic coated wires and plastic connection blocks
, you can still use it sparingly, just dont soak the stuff in it
if thats all you have, shoot em with electric motor cleaner, and if you have a copmpressor, blow em out ( dry) too so noting is sitting and puddlingLast edited by 3bvert; 06-22-2010, 12:44 PM.
