The motor ran fine until it started making a dieseling sound and very loud clicking that would get louder when i rev the motor and the engine has a big loss in power at any rpm. I pulled the head and inspected it and everything seems fine theres oil in the valleys like its getting there. In the cylinder walls you can clearly see the crosshatching and they look like they where just recently milled thats how clean they are. I havent pulled the oil pan to check the lower pan bolts to see if they are tight or fell out just yet but i suspect that they are blocking oil pickup. What do you guys think i should do?

The motor has never been taken apart this is the first time, i recently replaced the tensioner to a newer m44 one. I also looked at the chain guides and there is some wear on them but the chain seems fine and is tight with no slack but not so tight that it feels like it could snap. not sure on the valves but they look fine to me so i hope.

if you havent figured out your problem yet i would suggest using a long screwdriver or long bar, putting one end on the engine where the sound might be coming from and the other end on your ear so you can hear the sound and pinpoint its location.
an easy thing you can do if its the lifters which tend to get noisy when they get stuck is motor flush the engine and change the oil (synthetic). when the oil starts to gunk up in the lifters it begins to click a lot.
and most definitely drop the lower pan and check to see if theres bolts or little plastic pieces from the guides.
it might also help us help you if you had a video with sound if thats possible.
