E36 Head on an E30 M42

    E36 Head on an E30 M42

    I have searched online but have found little info on this. I am currently putting the E36 M42 head on my E30 318is, most of the components look the same but is there anything in particular I should do before everything is good to go?

    They are the same with the exception of the two coolant temp sensors. You need to swap those over from the E30 head.

      engine head from e36 is the same like e30,if e36 built under 1993 years of production.

        The differences in the head are that the E30 got double-wound valve springs and 7mm valve stems vs 6mm in the e36. Check out M42club.com for more info...
