    mods for an m42

hello everyone :) im new here.
i have a 318i e30, im swapping m40 to m42 :D i need to know sm stuff i can do after finishing my swap to get the most out of it leaving internals stock..

1- im doing a custom exhaust(stock headers) so what size should it be (dual 2" maybe..) and is an x pipe necessary?

2- im found some cheap chips on ebay like 30 $..have anyone ever used one of those? r they any good??

3- i have the stock m40 diff :/ i need to know what bmw have a short lsd, i heard 318ti is 4.45?? and is it lsd?

4- how much changing my flywheel is important? does harm the gear box or make it noisy?
ill be posting some pics soon, thx for ur help.

hey guys ive done sm research nd im so confused! i have one question:
how does a dinan chip compare to a markD chip??
does anybody have a link for dinan chips(they seem much cheaper).
we have 95 and 98 octane fuel!! how will these chips work?

your octane measurement systems are a bit different than in the US. 98 is apparently about equal to 92/93 in the US. And for a chip, you want Mark D. His are as good as it gets for an M42.

you need to use the search tool. There are tons of threads asking this same question. And you don't need a dual exhaust on an M42. you won't be able to tell a difference aside from the placebo effect from the sound except maybe for a different muffler.
