For about the same amount of money/difficulty I would rather have a turbo m42 than a n/a s5x

I have always wanted to build an M42 autocross car with the Downing Atlanta supercharger kit.

Orrrr that! I was over at Watkins last weekend and one of the instructors has a 318is with a downing kit. Running stock boost around 7-8psi and that thing HAULS.

He was putting down a lap time of about 2.19 meanwhile spece30's avg about 2.25~2.29 around Watkins. That's impressive!

        Here's a vid he sent me: http://is.gd/6IsgIv

Yep, there was a guy at the Picnic last year with one, dyno sheets put him at about 200 whp, maybe a little more.

I get 27.8mpg on my S50 DD'er. I get 24mpg in the family four door M42. Gas mileage is not an excuse.

A DA SC kit would be amazing for the M42. I want to sit in one. That said, I would swap the M42 to an M52 if I could ever manage to finish the S50 car.
            Need a part? PM me.

Yeh, that depends where you drive! Check my sig, I get about 20mpg in the city and avg about 26 to 27 on the highway. My old 4 banger used to regularly return about 250 miles on the tank, and thats with plenty of abuse. My 24v struggles to get to 250, thats waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles footing it.

Like I said, I definitely want another 318is in the future...too bad I have to sell my 4dr 318i. Gotta free up funds for something way cooler.
