M20s are prone to internally combust, which makes a rumble when the engine is turning

This. All my M20s have internally combusted. Especially noticeable at high revs.

Also prone to self destruct, however this may or may not be preceded by a rumbling noise.......
I saved 15% on my Bimmer parts by switching to ...

Forgot to mention.. It's an M42 ..I really do think it's my exhaust manifold's.. When I inspected under the hood and reved it, the "rumble" sound did came from there.. Gaskets just came and ima work on it this weekend.. Hopefully thats the culprit..

Yeah.. hopefully my exhaust manifold isn't cracked... Anyways, you know the part # on those studs that connects to the cylinder head to hold the EM.. or maybe specs on em.. I'm already guessin that ima need 16 of em..

Listen real good and make sure it's your exhaust, not your engine. If you're engine's making funny noises (that aren't lifters tapping), I'd first check your chain tensioner.

If it is your exhaust, I'd check the bushings that dampen the bracket that holds the exhaust to the Getrag 240. When my exhaust started making an annoying Honda rattle, I checked underneath and those bushing had completely melted away.
