Too stupid to search: which fuel line goes where? (M42s suck)

Fuck me, I am beat to shit. This goddamn M42 car is just kicking my ass.

I am not 100% certain which fuel line is which, so please:

Does the upper hose on the body of the car go to the black line or the chrome one?

    thanks,
    Luke

Front is supply rear is return. As for the others turn the car on and see where fuel sprays from! :)

Or just trace the line from the fuel filter, It will be your "in" line.

Just hook em up. If the car runs your good. If it doesn't prepare to get blasted with fuel when you remove the lines to switch. But then put them the right way and you will be golden. Ask me how I know

          Thread title and original post:

When dealing with an M42, a simple taste-test can work wonders. Take either hose and place it in your mouth. Have a helper crank the engine. How does the hose taste? If it tastes like rubber, then it is the return line, if it tastes like bathroom gin then it is the supply line.

I am going to beat each and every one of you goddamn retards to death with a wooden spoon.

How about I give you fucking queers the same kind of help when you PM me with "what deck do I want" questions...if you don't have an answer to MY fucking question, shut your fucking hole.

Now: which line UPPER or LOWER (not front or rear, they are vertically arranged) goes to the CHROME fuel rail?

Me and a friend had the exact same problem. I believe upper goes to the chrome, its been awhile since we did it and still haven't gotten a chance to crank it (fucking can't find a decent head for the life of us). So take my advice as a grain of salt.

post up your finding incase we have his set up wrong, best of luck!

From what I can tell without spewing gasoline in the tiny-but-well insulated shop, the upper one goes to the black one, AKA the upper one on the engine, which I believe to be return.

I typically label stuff like this with wire ties, makes for a much easier reassembly, but I did not pull this motor...however, upper to upper makes sense and seeems to nearly run, while the inverse of that does not.

                I will keep you posted.
