A brand new fuel pump is only like $30 online. I'd just buy a new one.

TRE 340 is like $60. Require some fiddling to install properly but there are a sh*t ton of writeups on the job.

Not all fuel pump housings are the same between the E30s. The pump itself can be swapped easy though...

No they are different. 318is has the early model fuel pump. I bought a fuel pump from a 91 318is for my 91 318ic and it didn't work. 91 318ic has a late model fuel pump.

                    Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Airtex E3240 Electric Fuel Pump (Automotive)
Ok. I know that after market products can be of lower quality, but, the original pump lasted 22 years! This one, 5 minutes? I don't know if I just got a bad part or what, but I know I won't be buying Airtex again. Purchaser be cautioned.
