    Clutch has no resistance/pressure

    Hi folks,

I was driving and suddenly the clutch of my '91 318i had no pressure/resistance and I couldn't shift the gear. What's the problem and how to fix it?
    Thank you.

Did the pedal stick to the floor? Now the clutch will not disengage? Most likley the clutch master. A few more details would be nice.

No, the pedal stays at normal position, however, when I press on it, it feels extremely loose like nothing is there and when the pedal touches the floor, it makes sound like it's hitting a metal. I checked the brake oil reservoir which is connected to the clutch and it was fine. Also, the carpet near the clutch pedal is not wet.

Than the cylinder on the trans itself has gone bad and or the pressure plate is busted.
