    Oil Leak

Oil leak is coming from somewhere lower on the engine and in the rear like where it would connect to the transmission.

What seals are there in the back of the engine that could leak oil, rear main seal?

It has to be something in that area or the back of the upper oil pan.
    Different strokes for different folks.

also make sure your front crank seal is not leaking, mine was leaking and seemed like it was the pan gasket...then it was leaking again and figured out it was the crank seal, and filter housing leaking

The PO replaced the upper and lower pan gaskets pretty recently before I bought the car and I want to say it's not the pan, but you never know.

When you say tranny has to come off, you just mean detaching it from the engine right?

Or do you mean you have to take it OFF for access to the seal?

Well if I ever have a half hour of free time I'll get her on jacks and get a good look up in there.

If it's engine oil it could be the cam cover, upper pan gasket, rear seal housing gasket, or rear seal.
