Would a fan clutch really cause that? I mean, if you are on the highway you get the same affect, the thermostat would control the actual temperature would it not?Comment

The fan clutch being stuck on with create quite a bit more airflow than driving on the highway does. If yours is stuck on, that could definitely be responsible for running cool. More often than not, though, the thermostat is bad. When I got my M42, the stat was actually cracked in half.Comment

Even going down the highway it wasnt warming up , it ended up being the original stat in there(70k miles) And most likely the original fan clutch from the 240k mile M42.
Youd be able to tell if its stuck on. It moves alot of air, and your car will sound similar to a ford ranger.1985 325e M50TU(Sold)
