    E36 M3 exhaust behind M42?

So I ended up with a stock OBDII catback exhaust from a 98 M3 that I had planned to use on my M50 swap car, but I'm going in a more track oriented direction with it (Single 3") and would like to use this exhaust on my soon to be M42 swapped touring.

I've seen this mentioned before and I'm wondering what the best way to do this is. A 'Y' pipe would do it, or I could split it straight from the manifold but that's a bit more welding then I'd care to do. I also have a clean E30 325is midsection that I'd be willing to hack up if nobody locally wants to buy it.

Plus the muffler is heavy as shit. Would not run it with an M42.

Hm. I do like the look and it would probably give a nice sound but still quiet, but I was concerned about the size/weight of it. How much do you think one of those things go for? It's in great shape, I got it really cheap, wouldn't mind selling it to fund something that would fit better.

I paid 50 for my e36 m3 exhaust. I have a 2.5 inch after the o2 into a flex pipe and a 30inch glass pack to y pipe then muffler. Nice and quiet yet has a deep tone when in the upper revs. Sounds sexy. and m42 engine btw

the M42 is down on enough power, why add more weight? Go with a TSE2 or 3 to cut up if you have to.
