engine hesitation

as i accelerate through a gear it seams as though there is a hesitation in some spots in the rpms. the power band, 4k and up, is just fine and peppy, but the mid range has hesitations in certain spots. could it be old ignition? (coil, wires) thanks for input

I had a similar problem with one of my M42's. And it turned out to be the wires. If you can find a known good set to swap out and check, I would do it.
