Whats a good exhaust/setup to go with on a 91 318is I previously put a magnaflow 14815 on put it sounds like my car should be in a fast and furious movie :(

I haven't heard it in person, but I'm looking to go with the Borla Pro XS muffler. From videos and recordings it has sounded good.

I've only had experience with stock and cat-back SuperSprint..

while both are rather "meh" in the sound department - I was under impression that one can not make any 4 cylinder sound great or like a proper "hot rod".. and attempts to do so via exhaust alone result in buzz bomb effect..

how is the sound from inside the interior, my current muffler (magnaflow 14815) is very deep and rattles the shit out of everything in the car especially lower RPM.
