How to prove legit MarkD chip?

I bought a chip used off this forum and it had a nice looking MarkD paper glued on top of it. I played around with it, then gave it to my friend to try it in his E30. Long story short, the little piece of paper is now lost and I have what looks like a generic ECU chip. I am thinking of de-modding my car and selling the chip. However, how do I prove that its a legit MarkD M42 chip?
