Question about M42 Alternator fitment,, 80A to 90A ok??

    Hey guys,
I need to order a new alternator tonight or tomorrow,, I was able to test mine barely before the car died for good, and found it pushing 8.5-9v which told me to test the rectifier bridge for a bad diode.. guess what, that's it :P Doesn't look like the bridge on this particular model is removable without extensive soldering etc and I just don't want to lol

So now I need a new alternator,,, what was in it was a bosch 80A 0-120-469-919,, I can get a 90A model from advance pretty quickly, and I think oreilly even has one in stock that's a 90A.. Will the 90A fit? Also it looks like the m20 alternator has the same body/mounting from pictures, would one of those work? I have a buddy that has a few locally, and I'd just get one of those, or pull one from a low mileage m20 in the local yard..

If anyone has any experience with this, I'd appreciate some info! Thanks!!
    Project e30 m3 starts now..... :D
