Engine runs rough and bogs when cold

I just recently dropped an M42 back into my 91 318i. When first started it runs rough and is very easy to stall just by giving it gas. After like a minute it warms up and seems to run fine. Any ideas on what the problem could be? or ways to diagnose it?
