Little background:
We all are aware E30's have a horrible time finding idle. They enjoy messing with us and bouncing all around. Well I performed the mess under the intake last year and fixed my idle. All winter long my idle was rock steady; until about 4 months ago when I removed my intake boot and tore it. My idle went to shit needless to say. Anywhere from 500rpm to 1500rpm. I recently replaced the intake boot and to no luck my idle was still crap.. :hitler: Couldnt figure it out, I have all new vacuum lines, new gaskets, re-torqued all of the fittings. Still poopy idle. I was tempted to do another "my idle sucks thread". But yesterday the light broke threw from M42 Heaven! I changed my oil, and a wild hair in my ass told me to reset the ECU by unhooking the battery. After said oil change, well....
MY IDLE HAS BEEN RESTORED 850RPM'S STEADY. :) Have a great weekend r3v.
If anyone has ever had this happen to them, and they already knew the answer to why my idle was still crap go ahead and feel free to rub it in now!
