M42 radiator issue

So Prior to me replacing my leaky radiator, the car ran great barely ever touch the 1/2 mark. The t stat has been replaced before. This past couple weeks the radiator has been leaking like crazy where its crimped to the expansion tank but still running cool.

So here i am right now, i bought a new behr radiator off Autohauz and just threw it in tonight, proceeding to bleeding BUT the car is running over the half line ( close to the 3/4 line) and i keep shutting it off, because i dont want to overheat it severely. idk what to do.. help!!!

Have you checked your fan clutch for proper operation? BRW 3/4 is not badly overheating but it's not normal either.

They can be a pain to bleed. Did you turn heat to full hot to open the core?

Helps to put the front of the car on an incline, I've jacked mine up from the left front before to help with this.
