What's this cable supposed to do?

So I was changing the air filter on my 318 and I noticed that when I did it, a cable came loose. It looks to be next to the throttle cable. The car still runs and drives fine with it unconnected but I want to make sure it's ok.

I am having trouble fitting the cable back on what looks like the head of a flat head screw. Any suggestions or even letting me know what that thing is for would be awesome!

My guess is it fits into that block just to the right of the TB nut in the first pic. This reminds me to install the CC I have for my M42.

excellent, thanks guys, I will try and fit it back together, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to damage anything by having it unattached

Oh, the MPGs, they will be severely damaged, or not.
