Put in Bosch 4 pintle injectors 0280155702. They can be found in older volvo models like 850

Temp. related problems may be the coolant temp sensor (behind the oil filter housing) or the intake air temp. sensor.

Or something I've ran into on Semi. trucks. The air filter will ice over when that cold.

Got on highway, and drive the car South until problem subsides.

Seriously, I think there is a TSB about this issue somewhere out there. Will look around

Injectors are fine i cleaned them out they inject umbrellas out of them so not worried about that . Behind the oil filter housing there is a oil pressure switch which is also replaced does anybody have a better than taking the maf
Apart and adjusting the air valve to open more because the cars should be between 800-900 not 1000 and up . If i could i would move down south.

Does your check engine light work? Do a stomp test if it does. I've seen similar issues to this from a bad o2 sensor.

It does work i plugged it in when i was at work and it said Maf sensor and o2 sensor bit i did the euro/states switch when take off the cover on the fire wall and depending if you have cats in the car you should plug in the connector and unplug it you don't vs versa i tried either way no changed but what it does apparently The m42 comes in 318is in Europe and America, there is no difference in the cars. It is almost identical in every way. However, there is one thing that is not the same. In Europe the 318is (usually) did not come with Catalytic Converters. In the US they do come with catalytic converters. And this is where the problem lies. If the car did not come with Catalytic converters the ECU reads what it needs to off the MAF sensor upon start up. If it has Cat Converters it needs to read the information off the O2 sensor as well as the MAF sensor upon start up to tell the ECU the Cat is warmed up properly. To take care of this problem BMW added one plug on the wire loom to either be connected therefore by passing having to read the O2 sensor and just use the MAF sensor, or its disconnected in which it needs to read the O2 sensor as well as the MAF.

My car would die on deceleration or sitting at idle. Rev up to 1500rpm up and down. It ended up being the o2 sensor. I do not have a catalytic converter and my plug you mentioned earlier is unplugged.

Try the stomp test and see if any code comes up.
